Sarah Vicini's Milken Award Surprise In Myrtle Beach, SC

It's National School Choice Week and South Carolina Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver is visiting to celebrate and highlight the importance of diversity in learning options. Little does everyone know, one more visitor is about to be introduced—and he's brought a big surprise for one Myrtle Beach teacher! The reason for today's assembly becomes clear when National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Chief Executive Officer Dr. Joshua Barnett, representing the Milken Family Foundation, takes the stage to surprise social studies teacher and instructional coach Sarah Vicini with a 2023-24 South Carolina Milken Award and $25,000!
