Lyndsay Hartmann (center) gets a hand with her oversized Milken Educator Award check from Nebraska Lieutenant Governor Mike Foley (left) and Nebraska Department of Education Commissioner Matthew L. Blomstedt. The $25,000 cash prize is unrestricted; Lyndsay can use it any way she likes.
"Lyndsay exemplifies the word teacher," says Blomstedt. "From her work in the classroom to her leadership with teacher mentoring she is always pushing others to learn and to grow. She has touched countless lives and has meant the world to her students, her peers, her school, and her community."
