NY Milken Educators Welcome Teacher John Melandro

It’s a big morning at Tangier Smith Elementary School in Mastic Beach: Eastern Suffolk Board of Cooperative Educational Services District Superintendent Dr. Jasmin Varela and Eastern Suffolk BOCES CEO David Wicks are visiting for a big all-school assembly. All becomes clear when Milken Educator Awards Senior Vice President Dr. Jane Foley names third and fifth grade teacher John Melandro the recipient of a 2024-25 Milken Award and $25,000.
