Janet Do Joins OR Milken Educators

 

Janet Do and her first-graders celebrate the teacher's Milken Educator Award. Do constantly monitors the progress of every student, differentiating instruction to remove barriers, and works hard to make the learning standards accessible for all students without sacrificing rigor.  She covers the walls with work and instruction charts that include photos of herself and the children, encouraging students to visualize themselves in the work, and refers to her students as "scholars" and "mentors."
