What's happening at Prince David Kawananakoa Middle School? Everyone is buzzing about an all-school assembly. What brings so many special guests to Honolulu today? The reason for the assembly becomes clear when Lowell Milken, founder of the Milken Educator Awards, surprises Student Services Coordinator and Hawai'i School District grad Jade Pham with a 2023-24 Milken Award and $25,000. Hawai'i Governor Josh Green, Lt. Governor Sylvia Luke, and Superintendent of Education Keith Hayashi joined Lowell Milken to honor Pham’s excellence in education in front of hundreds of cheering students, proud colleagues, dignitaries and media.
