Hawaii Science Teacher Michael Sana Wins 2015-16 Milken Award

 

 

An elated Michael Sana relaxes with students in his classroom after his surprise Milken Educator Award notification. Sana's students, whose end-of-course biology scores far outpace the state average, often participate in state and international science and engineering fairs, including the Intel Fair. With Sana's help, his students continue to earn scholarships to schools both in Hawaii and on the mainland, including Columbia University, the University of Southern California, the University of Pennsylvania and Occidental College.
