Back in the classroom, Milken Educator Awards Founder Lowell Milken gets a lesson in American Sign Language (ASL), signing "nice to meet you" with Danyel Smith. Smith retold the fascinating history of American Sign Language as well as the different sign languages around the world. Smith's class is fully "voice-off," where they learn how to apply the language as an essential communications tool.
