Colin DeGroot Wins New Mexico's Milken Educator Award

It's an exciting morning at The ASK Academy: New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez and Secretary of Education Hanna Skandera are visiting the school's brand-new facility to talk with students about the upcoming PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) assessment. But there's another reason for the dignitaries' visit, which comes to light when they introduce Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards. When Foley surprises science teacher Colin DeGroot with New Mexico's 2015-16 Milken Educator Award, a special day turns into one DeGroot, his students, and his colleagues will remember forever.
