Amanda Christensen Wins SD Milken Award

A beaming Amanda Christensen has a lot to be proud of. Her recognition as South Dakota’s sole Milken Educator for 2016-17 is a reflection of her effectiveness as a fourth-grade teacher. Christensen’s students routinely exceed expectations on district STAR assessments, gaining at least 100 points over the school year. Known for her ability to engage even the most reluctant learners, Christensen shows interest in her students’ lives, reminding them that each student has a purpose in life.
