Music Teacher Ali Jun Wins NV Milken Award

 

 

Lowell Milken, founder of the Milken Educator Awards, tells the assembly that teachers have the most important job in our society: preparing young people for bright futures. More than 35 years ago, he created the Milken Educator Awards to recognize outstanding teachers and principals. In fact, in 2000, Dr. Beverly Mathis, the school's namesake, received the Milken Educator Award herself! This year, another outstanding educator is right here at Mathis Elementary—and that person is about to receive this important national honor.
