Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, asks the students to consider why teachers rarely get the same accolades as athletes, actors and musicians. "Virtually every successful person will tell you that there was at least a teacher or two who helped them become who they are today," he points out. "Isn't it odd that teachers, who prepare everyone else, are seldom recognized?"
