Kena Allison is DC's 2013–14 Milken Educator
Thurgood Marshall Academy | Washington, DC | October 24, 2013The Milken Educator Award is not a lifetime achievment award, it's a recognition of the potential impact that an early- to mid-career educator can have on thousands more lives. Kena Allison wastes no time in realizing that potential, back in her physics classroom minutes after receiving the life-changing award.
With all deference to Sir Isaac Newton, today we'd like to share Allison’s First Law of (Teaching) Physics: A student in motion stays in motion, a student at rest simply requires an external force to set them in motion. Fortunately for them, Kena has energy to spare.
