Ricardo Larios (OR '15) celebrates his Milken Educator Award with Oregon State Board of Education Chair Miranda Summer (in gray suit, next to Larios) and members of his extended family. Larios, the child of Mexican immigrants and the first in his family to go to college, is dedicated to helping students from similar backgrounds through Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) classes and other programs.
Larios received his Milken Award at Waldo Middle School in Salem on January 6, 2016. See the photos and watch the video from Larios's surprise notification.
