At Salem Middle School in Salem, teacher Zoma Barrett uses creative lessons that relate curricular concepts to the real world. She serves as teacher advisor for Cubs News, a student-run daily televised news program, and Student Government. Mrs. Barrett is currently collaborating with colleagues at Salem Community Schools to improve K-12 math instruction in the school district.
