Principal Yvonne Weaver's goal is to provide students at Trinity East Elementary School in Washington with a child-centered education that is effective, inclusive and safe. She has provided training to the school's Title I staff on aligning their instruction with the district curriculum while emphasizing co-teaching strategies. She has incorporated combination classrooms in the fourth- and fifth-grades, and is working to develop performance tasks for reading and math assessments. As chair of the district's elementary portfolio and language arts committee, Mrs. Weaver has led district efforts to develop a process writing program and design software that tracks students' progress in writing throughout the school year.
After 34 years of public school experience, I am currently at Waynesburg University. My role in the Education Department is Field Placement Coordinator and Certification Officer. I spend the majority of my time preparing future teachers to be profession ready!
