Mike Edwards, principal at Valley High School in Clark County School District, has developed a reputation for encouraging community involvement in school activities. He surveys parents, students and staff to determine opinions on school programs, and involves his management team and parent advisory council in decision making. A former director for the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, he is actively involved in district-wide efforts to reform curriculum and instructional methods. Mr. Edwards was a 1984 honoree in the "In Honor of Excellence" program.
