Fifth-grade teacher Wayne Boisselle is the resident technology innovator, troubleshooter and trainer at Dawson School in Holden. With his "Lights, Camera, Kids!" program, Mr. Boisselle transformed his classroom into a TV news station, through which students plan, write and produce video broadcasts reporting their daily activities in the classroom. He developed "Touring Europe Electronically with Hyperstudio," a geography unit in which students create multimedia presentations based on their research into a specific continent. His effective, non-technology-based units include "Travelling Tales," a creative-writing activity involving take-home materials that engages parents and families in their children's learning. Mr. Boisselle supports many student-led initiatives, including the school's Web site, recycling program and campus beautification efforts. Wayne has been a middle school life science teacher for the past 15 years at the Mountview Middle School in Holden, MA.
