Wanda Emblom, who teaches zoology, anatomy, and physiology at Northview High School in Dothan, is a district leader in science and technology education. Using computers, a digital camera, a scanner and other electronic resources, Ms. Emblom generates enthusiasm for technology among her students, thereby motivating them to learn. As a member of the Northview High School Advisory Committee, Ms. Emblom contributes to the school's improvement agenda. She also serves as an instructor/consultant for the Dothan City Schools and Troy State University Regional Inservice Center. In 1997-98, Ms. Emblom was honored with the Dothan City Schools' Secondary-Level Technology Teacher of the Year Award for her outstanding work.
