Victor Williamson is the founder, director, and lead teacher of the Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center at Central Elementary School in Pleasant Grove. The 4,000 square-foot facility contains a classroom, a planetarium, a starship capable of taking students on simulated social study adventures through a fictional galaxy and a submarine simulator that is used for biomedical research and oceanic studies. He uses these facilities to integrate the physical sciences with social sciences and humanities. Since he established the center nine years ago, it has served over 85,000 students and teachers. Mr. Williamson teaches sixth-grade mathematics and conducts weekly technology in-service sessions for fellow teachers.
