As a teacher and chairman of the social studies department at John Winthrop Junior High School in Deep River, Thomas Sullivan enjoys "the continually changing nature of instruction in the classroom." Mr. Sullivan is involved in the development of middle school policy and serves on the Board of Directors of the New England League of Middle Schools. A 23-year veteran of the classroom, he strongly believes that teachers must take an active role in the formation of future educational policy. He explains that teachers "can utilize untapped talents and resources in the quest for excellence in education."
