Demonstrating the compassion and concern that characterize an extraordinary educator, Thomas Koenigsberger teaches chemistry, physics, and biology at Rockford's Jefferson High School. He has designed the school's new anatomy/physiology course and helped to revise the school district's science curriculum. Recognizing urgent needs outside the classroom, Mr. Koenigsberger has also taught CPR at the Hispanic Community Center, has developed a biology curriculum for the local adult education program and has tutored students for university advanced placement classes. He is the author of a student teaching manual in biology for the Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
