Teresa Corpuz was principal at Albany Middle School in Alameda County. Previously she held the position of principal at Sunnyvale Junior High in Santa Clara County. At Sunnyvale, Ms. Corpuz was named to preside over the merging into one of three school communities. Believing that teachers should be allowed to experiment with various methods of instruction, Ms. Corpuz fostered innovative curricula and scheduling in a successful effort to respond to the needs of minority and low-achieving students.
