Technology plays a key role in the classroom of Suzanne Biedschied, third-grade teacher at Desert View Elementary School in Rock Springs. Using computers to teach her students science, history and writing, Mrs. Biedschied also helps fellow educators learn to use technology effectively. Several of her most computer-savvy students are recruited as trouble shooters, providing technical assistance and training to faculty, staff and other students, while building their own sense of self-worth. Mrs. Biedschied considers her students' emotional lives to be as important as their education, and has created a program called Rainbows, which helps her students learn how to deal with their parents' divorce or the death of a loved one.
