Susan Jefferson retired from teaching first grade at Miamitown Elementary School at the end of the 2020-2021 school year. She taught her entire career (34 years) at Miamitown Elementary in Miamitown,Ohio. Miamitown Elementary was part of the Southwest Local School District until its closing at the end of the 2020-2021 school year. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Miami University in 1987 and her Master's Degree from Marygrove College in 1999.
After receiving the Milken Award in 2000 she was chosen as the Miamitown Elemenatary Teacher of the Year, Southwest Local School District Teacher of the Year, Miamitown Elementary PTA Educator of the Year, Southwest Council PTA Educator of the Year, Hamilton County PTA Educator of the Year, and District 6 PTA Educator of the Year. She presented at the the ITIP Google Summit in May of 2018 on how she incorporated technology in her first grade classroom.
Susan Jefferson spends her retirement with her family, traveling, volunteering at her church, and enjoying her hobby of baking and decorating cookies.
