Nationally known science teacher Stewart Schultz mixes traditional lessons with a bit of showmanship to excite his students at West Bloomfield High School. A final exam at an amusement park, in which students calculate rates of acceleration and forces exerted on some of the riders, along with magic tricks and "The Quark Game," are just part of his act. His mini exploratorium demonstrates physics at work, while his widely recognized, televised science course "Space, Time & Spirit" reaches students around the country. Mr. Schultz contributes to education magazines, publishes a newsletter for science educators, and was a recipient of the Math/Science Presidential Award.
