Mr. Granderson has presented numerous in-service workshops to teachers of the middle and upper elementary school levels on science curricula but he is particularly proud of his hands-on program in which he strives to prepare lab assignments that are innovative and "make science come alive" for his students. In 1989, Mr.Granderson developed a portable lab table top for which he received the Sheldon Award from the National Science Teachers Association for school science equipment innovation. In 1985, he received the Exemplary Elementary Science Teacher of the Year Award from the same association.
