Five years ago Sharon Brock returned as principal to Boynton Elementary School where she had been a first grader. In transforming the school into a statewide model and earning the National School of Excellence designation in 1990, Ms. Brock demonstrated to teachers and children alike how hard work and positive thinking can overcome difficult obstacles. The Georgia Department of Education and the Georgia Board of Education have recognized her as an Outstanding Educational Leader, as does the National Elementary School Principals Association. She currently serves on the executive board of the YMCA of Georgia and on the Leadership Team of the Catoosa County Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Council. And Boynton Elementary has never been the same.
