A teacher of social studies and mass communications at Portland Middle School in Portland, Sandra Miller developed a student-operated cable television news program that has become a model for the Stae Model Student At-Risk Drop-out Prevention Program. The Program was also a recipient of the Tennessee School board Award of Excellence. Describing herself as forceful, determined, and understanding, Ms. Miller encourages and motivates her students similarly to reach their maximum potential. "I am an educator because of my endless love for learning and children of all ages," she says. Ms. Miller imparts her personal philosophy of life to her students - "If you can dream it, you can do it."
