Since receiving the Milken Educator Award in 2003, Ross Sward has served as an assistant principal at Bacon Academy in Colchester, CT, a House Principal at The Norwich Free Academy in Norwich, CT and currently holds the position of Assistant Principal at Coventry High School in Coventry, CT. Entering his 33rd year in education, Ross continues to work with teachers and students in an effort to maximize student learning through innovative and creative classroom approaches. He is excited to return to a small school setting at Coventry High School where he will be able to work with a passionate group of educators as they support and challenge students to develop their voices during these unique times in history. Additionally, Sward is active in the CT Association of Schools and has served on CT State Wrestling Committee, CAS Mentor/Mentee Program and the CT Student Activities Committee. Additionally, he is an active member of the Putnam Lions Club and the Neconn Soccer Club serving as an officer in both organizations. Ross is also a certified soccer referee and referee assignor as well as a referee mentor in Northeast Connecticut.
