In June 2024, Rosemarie Kraeger retired as the Superintendent from the Middletown Public School system. In her 27 years of service, she held several roles. Rosemarie was the principal and director of elementary education at Linden School in Middletown, where she took every opportunity "to inspire teachers and to motivate and challenge students" Such opportunities, she believes, are the true rewards of the educational profession. Mrs. Kraeger took the initiative to explore and implement a wide spectrum of innovative programs at Linden School. One such program encourages students to improve their grades by means of a personalized plan and one-on-one assistance. The school also features a "celebrity writers" program, an intra-school post office and an all-day kindergarten. Through partnerships with local universities, the school is an on-site training location for pre-service math teachers. The curriculum initiatives introduced by Mrs. Kraeger have "improved teaching strategies throughout the district." The multi-cultural programs and inclusionary practices for special education students championed by Mrs. Kraeger have brought the school regional recognition.
