After beginning her teaching career in Brevard County, Florida, Ronnelle Blankenship retired from the Hamilton County, TN Department of Education. Mrs. Blankenship received numerous recognitions including Hamilton County and East Tennessee District Teacher of the Year, Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year, and Hamilton County Education Association Teacher of the Year. As an elementary principal, she worked with government and health officials to develop a school and community support network and was recognized for her work to support special needs and gifted students. After retirement she worked with the Public Education Foundation in Chattanooga, Tennessee as a mentor/coach for new principals. Mrs. Blankenship currently serves on the board of a private preschool program.
