By the time students graduate from A. L. Hagen Middle School in Dickinson, they are well-prepared for the 21st Century, thanks to their principal, Ronald Steiner. Through an eighth-grade class Mr. Steiner developed called Emerging Technology, students receive a comprehensive technological education that uses everything from computers and audio and video equipment to Legos and shop tools, to explore applications in math, science, industrial arts, information management, construction, audio and visual broadcasting, engineering, design, drafting and robotics. Mr. Steiner has also developed an Introduction to Computers class, as well as an Introduction to Technology course in which students learn rudimentary skills in drafting, drawing to scale and learning to read blueprints.
