Teaching speech, drama, and debate at Belleville West High School led Richard Hunsaker to national recognition as an outstanding Illinois educator. His impact on students has been long-standing, and the success of his students in the classroom has translated into speech and debate competitions which themselves have led to many state championships. His exemplary communication skills and his love for teaching epitomize the performance and behavior he expects from his students in the classroom and on the stage. Author of a seminal text on verbal communications, Mr. Hunsaker built a distinguished 30-year career at Belleville West High School.
