"Priscilla Minkoff is a teacher of fifth grade students at Lake Elementary School in Mentor. Ms. Minkoff's chief aims are to build each student's self-esteem and create a love of learning. As a Mentor School District Committee member, Ms. Minkoff has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of a new writing curriculum known as the Young Authors Program and the Language Arts Portfolio Assessment Program. In l986, Ms. Minkoff involved her class in the NASA "Seeds Project." Ms. Minkoff has also assisted in developing and piloting a child molestation prevention program, and has been a presenter on this subject at the Ohio School Board Association Convention. Begun in l986, this program serves as a model to the entire state of Ohio.
