As recently as five years ago, Patty Myers's second-grade classroom at Lewis and Clark Elementary School in Great Falls had little in the way of technology. Since then she has made it an integral part of her teaching, maintaining her students' book reports on a database, creating customized games, cards and worksheets on the computer, and connecting her students via the Internet to a school in New Hampshire. A member of the school district technology committee, Ms. Myers conducts in-service training for other teachers in the use of technology, and is recruiting upper-grade students to become technology trainers.
