Math teacher Patrick Scott Mara brings patience, caring and innovation to his classroom at South High School in Pueblo. He is the developer of his school district's computer education program, implemented advanced computer science in his school, and piloted the use of interactive materials in the science department. Having authored professional articles and assessment and readiness tests, he now trains other teachers, serves on his building accountability committee and coaches the Match Wits team. Mr. Mara, who has been described as the Jaime Escalante of Pueblo District #60, has earned the title of "Master Teacher" for his superb communication skills and teaching abilities.
