Pam Ogle is a third-grade classroom teacher and one of two K-5 mathematics consultants in the Waverly Community School District. In her role as a math consultant, Ms. Ogle demonstrates mathematics curriculum and instructional methods for classroom teachers, and prepares and presents workshops to help teachers both within and outside her district learn how to incorporate manipulatives as a part of their mathematics instruction. She prepares lesson plans, creates "guidebooks" and designs home-school connection activities so that families can share math experiences. An outgrowth of this work is in Ms. Ogle's book, A "Manipulative Handbook for Teaching Basic Operations," which has proven to be a valuable resource for teachers preparing math lessons.
