At a time when art education is threatened by shrinking budgets, Pam Kraft, art teacher for grades 9-12 at Encampment High School in Encampment, incorporates technology and other disciplines into her classes to make the arts integral to the core curriculum. Ms. Kraft's students have won awards for their yearbooks, which she helps them design and produce with desktop publishing software. Ms. Kraft also uses laser disk players and projection TV's to weave science and geography into her art classes. Students, as well as fellow teachers, benefit from Ms. Kraft's enthusiasm for and expertise in technology, which she has fostered through several professional development sessions.
