Responding to a need for a curriculum that improves communication skills while addressing different learning styles and ability levels, journalism and language arts teacher Michael Frazier created a library research/multimedia course at Hanover Central Junior-Senior High School in Cedar Lake. Students in Mr. Frazier's course learn how to develop effective research techniques, locate media resources, and incorporate their report materials into audio-visual presentations. He created the school's Internet-based newspaper, CyberCat, which provides students with academic credit while teaching them to be effective information providers. Among his professional activities and affiliations, Mr. Frazier is a Board member, speaker and instructor at the Indiana High School Press Association.
