After nearly a quarter-century in the classroom, Michael Cassity now administers the Plumas Unified School District's home schooling program. A California Literature Project leader, he has taught lanuage arts to both students and peers, and has initiated projects such as a 1988 group trip to Ashland, Oregon, for the Shakespeare festival. As one parent from Greenville Elementary School in Plumas noted appreciatively, Mr. Cassity has a rare ability to "turn kids on to reading."
