Mathematics teacher Marshall Cruce has created opportunities for students at USD 416 - Louisburg High School in Louisburg to develop confidence and competence in math. Mr. Cruce instituted a twice-weekly Math Night Study Program to provide after-school assistance. The program has so successfully boosted student scores that it has been replicated by the district's middle school. He was also instrumental in launching the school's award-winning Math Club, whose membership includes one out of every ten Louisburg students. Another program he initiated, the Academic Letter Program, rewards students for meeting his high standards. Mr. Cruce frequently invites the community to visit the school and promotes the Math Club's victories in the local media.
