Marjorie Miller is a kindergarten teacher at the Longfellow School in Portland. Her goal as a teacher has been to move consistently toward developmentally appropriate practice, and the "child-driven" curriculum in her classroom is evidence of that. Ms. Miller served as a member of the gubernatorial Commission for Maine's Common Core of Learning, and is currently a member of the Chapter 2 Advisory Committee. She is also a member of the Southern Maine Association for the Education of Young Children. In 1989, Ms. Miller was named Maine Teacher of the Year.
