Mario Guerrero is a sixth-grade teacher at Jackson Elementary School in Selma. He has researched and developed a number of innovative programs, including a districtwide outdoor education program at the Yosemite Institute that stresses not only science, but reading, writing, and math. Through a grant, Mr. Guerrero obtained the computers and recording equipment necessary to produce "From A Shorter Point of View," a radio program broadcast on the local public radio station, KVPR, for which his students research topics, conduct interviews, and report stories.
