As a fourth-grade teacher at Fremont Elementary School, Lorna Mae Nagata has long focused on teamwork. Employing an innovative approach to English language arts education, she has coordinated a publishing project in which her students have written, illustrated and bound their own books. Ms. Nagata also works on a variety of PTA projects such as the Walk-A-Thon, which raised funds to purchase computers for the school. Since the fall of 1988, she has worked at the Alhambra Unified School District office in the administrative internship program.
