Currently I am an educational speaker and presenter on the American Space Program and the Arlington Lady Mission. Lisette Clemons taught at St. Augustine of Canterbury School in Belleville at the time of her Milken Educator Award. As a teacher at St. Augustine, she was widely known for her enthusiasm and generosity in class, and spent much additional time outside the classroom working with students on such projects as fundraising for field trips, providing extra tutoring and meeting with parents. She also served as a mentor to beginning teachers. Programs she created included a science fair for fourth and fifth graders and Sister Schools, a program that paired suburban elementary schools with inner city schools. After being named a Milken Educator in 1989, she and her husband Dean donated her $25,000 toward a fund to send 30 St. Augustine students to Space Camp.
