At Parma Elementary School in Parma, fifth-grade teacher Lisa Wollet is dedicated to providing quality learning experiences for her students. Mrs. Wollet follows an integrated approach to learning and is active in Reading Month activities and school improvement efforts. Her technology-based approach to instruction has had a profound impact on student learning, and she helped develop a field trip to Mackinac Island to support her social studies curriculum. Mrs. Wollet also traveled with a team of students to present at the MACUL (Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning) conference at the state capitol. Mrs. Wollet's integrated approach to learning works well, as her students' Michigan Educational Assessment Program scores are in the 90th percentile. TIME for Kids magazine published a story on Mrs. Wollet's school Environmental Fair, and she has been awarded a Golden Apple by Western School District.
