With the unique distinction of having had a school named after her (Ayaprun, her Yup'ik name), Ledwina Jones has clearly become something of an institution in her small rural community. As a bilingual teacher in Bethel, Mrs. Jones tries to relate everything she teaches to the Yup'ik culture, using songs, chants, and arts and crafts activities.
