Krista Newcomb has developed a model Montessori curriculum in her multi-age classroom at Villa Montessori in Scottsdale, despite being visually impaired. She has mastered Project Read, a specialized literacy curriculum, and serves as the school's resource person for the program. She also participated in a summer literacy tutoring initiative for students reading below their grade level. In addition to helping students excel academically, Ms. Newcomb promotes positive behavior with "Virtue Awards" for qualities such as patience, enthusiasm, assertiveness, and loyalty. In addition to her work in the classroom, she serves as the Pre-Primary and Elementary I Program Director for the school and is a key member of the Campus Development Committee.
