Principal Kirk Lattimore has made instructional excellence, accountability and student learning the highest priorities at Crosby Middle School in Louisville. An outstanding instructional leader, Mr. Lattimore implemented the "Tuning Teams" system, a program that enables teachers to work in collegial groups, analyzing student work, evaluating instructional effectiveness, and sharing insights and feedback. He began the Men of Quality Mentoring program which partners African-American male students with role models from the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, promoting achievement and civic engagement. Among his many leadership positions, Mr. Lattimore served on the district superintendent's Educational Summit Team, was active in the statewide curriculum revision, and chairs several school and district committees.
