Karen Johnson currently teaches fourth grade at New Suncook School in Lovell. Many changes have occurred in the field of assessment in her state as well as the nation which are of personal interest to her. Currently Karen serves as chairperson of the reading committee which has been responsible for developing local reliable and valid assessments to meet the state requirements for measuring the Maine Learning Results. She also served on the No Child Left Behind committee to develop reading requirements for the state. Karen has just recently completed her Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in educational leadership. Her enthusiasm for teaching and remaining in the classroom remains strong after 23 years of teaching. New Suncook School continues to be a leader in the state and with that distinction come exceptional opportunities for all those interested.
